Become an Advisor or Partner

The GSFFC has three categories of participation: contact, advisor and partner. To become a contact, please sign up for the mailing list. To become an Advisor or Partner, please first sign up for the mailing list, then fill out the form below and you will be invited to attend the next quarterly meeting. To be a Partner or Advisor, you must sign on to both the Fireshed’s Mission and Vision and Resiliency Strategy, and attend the quarterly Coalition meetings. You will also be invited to participate in one of the Fireshed’s five Committees.

ADVISORS are individuals or organizations that are supportive of the vision and mission of the GSFFC that are willing to commit time to participate in GSFFC meetings. Advisors may participate on committees as well. Advisors can participate in and contribute to Coalition meetings and activities but do not have voting status on formal decisions made by the Coalition. Advisors may be individuals who are participating actively but who do not represent a partner organization, or advisors may be representatives from organizations that want to participate actively in Coalition activities but do not want to sign onto the Coalition’s plan and strategy, or do not want the commit to partner status.

PARTNERS are an organization or individual that is supportive of the vision and mission of the GSFFC, and that has signed the Coalition’s plan and strategy document, and that agree with the operating principles. Partners are willing to commit time to participate in GSFFC meetings and to serve on committees. Partner organizations will have voting status on formal decisions made by the Coalition.  Organizations that will add to the Coalition’s capacity and that are willing to sign onto the plan and strategy and support the operating principles can join the Coalition as partners. New organizations are encouraged to join the Contact List first, and then express an interest in becoming a partner.

The GSFFC is a coalition of public and private organizations. The GSFFC is not a subdivision of the State of New Mexico, as defined in the state’s Open Meetings Act, §§ 10-15-1 to 10-15-4 NMSA 1978. Although federal agencies participate in the GSFFC, the Coalition is not a federal advisory board and was not created by a federal agency, as defined by the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), 5.U.S.C. app. 2, §§ 1 to 16 (2012). The GSFFC operates informally to support its partners, and is not incorporated as a non-profit, 501(C)(3), partnership, or other legal status.
